Ten-year Fishing Ban on Yangtze Officially in Place

The official start of the ten-year fishing ban on the Yangtze River was celebrated on 31 December 2020. Starting from 00:00 1 January 2021, fishing on key water bodies of the Yangtze River will be strictly banned for a continuous 10 years. This is viewed as a crucial action to protect the river and reverse the degradation of its ecosystems. (People’s Daily)
